Follow-up to their jealousy-inspired, Mr. Brightside, When you were young speaks of finding love in unexpected people when you least expect it (or something like that).
The band kept their unique sound of guitar and the angst of their lyrics (even though it's mostly about love they manages to pull it off without sounding mushy). The vocalist, (sheesh, I don't know his name) sounds a bit like Bono in the bridge part.
I suggest you watch the video because it is very nice. The mexican-ambience added a sort of "theatrical" touch in the song. It's also a metaphor to the message of the song about ,
"You sit there in your heartache
Waiting on some beautiful boy to
To save you from your old ways.."
and
"I said he doesnt look a thing like Jesus
He doesnt look a thing like Jesus
But more than you'll ever know"

Len spends most of her time ruminating on her writings that never made it to paper; keeps sane by reading books and listening to music. She reviews most of them out of love and the joy of it.
