The Hunger Games #1
by Suzanne Collins
from Goodreads:
In a future North America, where the rulers of Panem maintain control through an annual televised survival competition pitting young people from each of the twelve districts against one another, sixteen-year-old Katniss's skills are put to the test when she voluntarily takes her younger sister's place.
Review:
Just right amount of action, violence, political ideas, values and personal strength. What is not to admire in Katniss Everdeen other than being too much of a survivor that she can't see real emotions when you feel it? But who can blame her, she lives in a radical world where the powerful in the Capitol makes human violence a form of entertainment and are twisted in their government.
I feel for Peeta. His feelings is both his strength and his pain. I want to know what will happen to him and Katniss! And what will Gale think of their relationship after everything that happened in the Hunger Games. I hope Katniss will clear her emotions and realize that it's love with Peeta!!!

Len spends most of her time ruminating on her writings that never made it to paper; keeps sane by reading books and listening to music. She reviews most of them out of love and the joy of it.
