As a lot of you already know, I'll be doing a special signing at 7pm EST on August 4th at Barnes and Noble in Union Square, New York City. I'll be answering questions about The Mortal Instruments, Clockwork Angel, and City of Fallen Angels (a chapter of which is included in the paperback City of Glass which was just released). I'll also have some announcements about upcoming book projects that till now have been Top Sekrit.
Now, I know not everyone can make it to the Big Apple for the event, so before the event, at 5pm EST, I'll be doing a live chat at Ustream also announcing the upcoming projects and talking about City of Fallen Angels, Infernal Devices, Clockwork Angel, TMI, and everything else. So if you've never made it to a signing/talk, this is a great way to participate! You'll be able to submit questions for me and participate in the chat using your Facebook, AIM, MySpace, or Twitter accounts through UStream's social stream; there's also going to be a sweepstakes to win* for people who participate, so please RSVP over at the site!
I've been getting a lot of questions on how to participate, so here's the nuts and bolts:
The easiest way to ask questions for the UStream chat is to do it through Facebook. All you need to do is:
- Log into Facebook.
- Go to http://www.facebook.com/cassandraclare
- Click on the "Ustream" tab at the top of the page.
- Go ahead and ask questions or make comments where it says "Update your status about this event" in the chat area to the right of the actual Ustream video.
If you're not a Facebook user or you'd rather not go through Facebook directly, you can also ask questions on the Ustream page itself:
- Go to http://www.ustream.tv/simonandschuster.
- Under the chat area marked "Social Stream," click one of the logos to log into Twitter, Facebook, AIM, or MySpace.
- Once logged in, go ahead and ask questions or make comments in the comment box at the top of the Social Stream section.
- If you're on Twitter, someone will be monitoring the hashtag #ChatSS so you can simply ask questions that way.
For those of you who can't make it to the signing or the chat, I'll be updating here on my blog and on my webpages later Wednesday night with what the news is. The signing is also going to be livestreamed by Mundie Source, details: "There's a Facebook event for it here so that people can get the reminder on FB. The stream itself will be here: http://www.blogtv.com/people/ashleymc starting at 6:45ish. People can subscribe to the channel and automatically get an e-mail to remind them about the stream ten minutes before it starts."
