"My name is Meaghan Chase.
I thought it was over. That my time with the fey, the impossible choices I had to make, the sacrifices of those I loved, was behind me. But a storm is approaching, an army of Iron fey that will drag me back, kicking and screaming. Drag me away from the banished prince who's sworn to stay by my side. Drag me into the core of a conflict so powerful, I'm not sure anyone can survive it.
This time, there will be no turning back." (Goodreads)
Review
The Iron Queen marks the epic conclusion of Meaghan Chase's battle with the Iron Feys. All she wanted was to be normal. Even though she knows she can't have the "normal" life she wants, at least she wanted the bit of what her being a half-human, half-fey can offer her. With the threat of the false Iron King still hounding her, she knows she cannot go back to her family, and her only choice is to confront her battles head on. Her only consolation is having Ash by her side and they are determined to fight for their love no matter what happens.
As the threat of the Iron Kingdom spread like wildfire across the Nevernever, Meaghan, being the only one to withstand iron, is called to stop the false Iron King. Together with Ash and Puck, they are thrust into the faery war, knowing that with everything at stake, they have to win this war or bring the false Iron King down with them. Meaghan and Ash knows that the future is bleak for them. The only thing that keeps them going is their love for them and a promise of a possible future for them to finally have a life together.
Expect that this journey will be perilous, merciless, and heart-wrenching. If you think that the first two books gave you a mighty ride, then hold on tight and prepare something to console you because The Iron Queen is a heart-stopper until the very last page.
Julie Kagawa delivers once again in this much anticipated third book in the Iron Fey series. There's a fine balance of humor, ardor, pain, and love in the time of war and crossroads. I found it very hard to write a review for this one and at the same time a strong nudge to write about it. It's like reading/seeing Lord of the Rings: Return of the King again, where war have torn friends, demanded sacrifices, and living knowing it could very be your last. But it was certainly worth every tear I shed after closing the book - tears out of the mixed emotions flooding in, but mostly out of hope for a love that will endure.

Julie Kagawa announced last week that there will be a fourth book in the series called "The Iron Knight" and it will be from Ash's point of view. Exciting!
*squee* You mentioned the Lord of the Rings, funnily I was thinking too about Lord of the Rings when reading Iron Queen. I was having the epic scenes from the movie in my head during the Battle scenes and the whole journey!
I was sobbing like crazy during the last 10% of this book, it was simply EPIC!! Great Review!
Wow! I haven't read any of this series yet but it sounds amazing! If it's anything like the Lord of the Rings trilogy, I will be in tears by the end as well!

I have heard so many great reviews for this series. I have the first two books and plan to read them very soon! Thanks for the review--I can't wait to read the entire series.
I have the first two books in this series and everyone loves it. I'm glad that book three lives up to the hype of the other books.
Woah, I can't believe you got to read this so long ago, months before it comes out. Very cool.
And wow, does this sound good! If a book can bring out this kind of emotion in you then that's a good sign.
I've heard so much about this series, but have yet to start it. After reading this review, I think I'll move it to the top of my list. A series as awesome as LOTR? Count me in :)
I just got this in the mail on ARC tour so I'll be reading it this weekend :)
Great review! I've been hearing lots of good things about Kagawa's series! Book 3 sounds great!

I absolutely love this series. TEAM ASH! I cannot wait for this to come out. I haven't read a single bad review. Thanks for yours!
Hey!
I haven't read any book of the series yet, but all the good reviews and the precious covers made me to put it on my to-read list. But I must say that your review 's been the most convincing, since I always tend to see behind the main story. And since there's humor, love, pain and a "perilous, merciless, and heart-wrenching" journey, this series is for me! Not to mention that now I'll get to read all the books in a row, yay!:D
Thanks for the review and sorry for my too long comment!:P
xoxo
I cannot WAIT for this book to come out. I've loved this series ever since I picked it up, and I am so excited for it to come out! Unfortunately I'll probably be on a wait list at my library for a few months before I can read it, but it will most definitely be worth the wait.
Thanks for the giveaway, and congratulations on your blogiversary!
