Kyle Kingson (Alex Pettyfer) has it all – looks, intelligence, wealth and opportunity – and a wicked cruel streak. Kendra accepts, and, true to form, Kyle blows her off in a particularly savage fashion. She retaliates by casting a spell that physically transforms him into everything he despises. Enraged by his horrible and unrecognizable appearance he confronts Kendra and learns that the only solution to the curse is to find someone that will love him as he is – a task he considers impossible.
Repulsed by his appearance, Kyle’s callous father banishes him to Brooklyn with a sympathetic housekeeper (LisaGay Hamilton) and blind tutor (Neil Patrick Harris). As Kyle ponders how to overcome the curse and get his old life back, he chances upon a drug addict in the act of killing a threatening dealer. Seizing the opportunity, Kyle promises the addict freedom and safety for his daughter Lindy (Vanessa Hudgens) if she will consent to live in Kyle’s Brooklyn home. Thus begins Kyle’s journey to discover true love in this hyper-modern retelling of the classic “Beauty and the Beast” story."

Awesome post! I can't wait to watch this movie!! I just recently read this book and couldn't put it down.. Definitely one of my favorites!
I haven't read the book! I'm waiting for the movie tie-in cover to come out. lol! Totally been waiting for this movie since April!
I do want to see this but I am concerned with the amount of times this movie has been put off. This almost never seems to be a good thing when movies are delayed so long like this. Usually it means the movie simply isn't good.

@Aylee: Ack! I hope not. I know some movies that was a bit delayed but were fine...*_*
The last I heard it was only because they don't want the movie to coincide with Zach Efron's movie (having Vanessa there and all, and Zach is supposedly proven "bankable" than Alex, which will about to change). And the next possible date for release is next year. So that was sad.

I love the look of this film even though it has V. Hudge in it haha I adored the book, and I'm a bit sad to see they changed Kyle's look, but I guess it just wasn't marketable enough haha Thank you for posting this, Len! :)
