Deadline has reported that Lily Collins has been cast the role of Clary Fray in the movie adaptation of Cassandra Clare's City of Bones. She has been in The Blind Side and in the upcoming movie, Priest. You can read more here or in Cassie's post.

Update: MTV Hollywood Crush has an open letter to the casting directors on why Alex Pettyfer should play Jace. Cassie suggests that we leave a comment, "OH YEAH BABY HE SHOULD" or something to that effect so that people would know the HE SHOULD. :)

YAY! When I first heard this on twitter I was like meh, she's okay I guess. But then I googled her and found pictures of her with red hair (like the photo above) and now I'm pretty excited about this! She's looks great! And she would look extra good with Alex P. next to her... I will join you in sacrificing my future lovelife to get him in that role!
Wow! I just watched The Blindside, and I REALLY liked her in that!! I'm so happy about this...
The casting of Jace will determine if I actually want to watch the movie. I love TMI so much that I don't want it to be ruined for me by the movie like Twilight was... I had Alex Pettyfer already in my mind for him while I was reading (only he was obviously younger then), and he HAS to be cast as Jace. I'm just worried that he won't because he's already been all tattooed in Beastly... [/rant]

I'm totally hoping for Alex Pettyfer too, and if Lily's playing Clary, he can definitely play Jace, she's actually older than him...I just looked on IMDb haha :)
@Aylee: I don't really know her until today when the news broke out. *shy grin* But she does look the part with the red hair. But of course all concerns fall on who will play our dear Jace. :D YESSS!! Hopefully our sacrifice will bear good results!
@Jessi E: I am determined not to watch the movie if Alex will not be Jace. The moment I set my eyes on him I know he was Jace *dramatic lighting*. I do hope they see him being all tattooed in Beastly an edge bec he does look good with ink...

I'm hoping for Alex too, but he already has "Beastly","I am Number Four" and "Now" coming out in 2011 and I fear they won't cast him because of that! *begs to god he'll be picked to play Jace*
Oh, yay! I'd never heard of her, but looks-wise, she is perfect! Lets hope her acting is just as awesome :) Now, as long as they get Alex Pettyfer to play Jace, we are SET! Awesome news, matey! :)
