"When her parents are murdered before her eyes, sixteen year-old Helen Cartwright finds herself launched into an underground London where a mysterious organization called the Dictata controls the balance of good and evil. Helen learns that she is one of three remaining angelic descendents charged with protecting the world’s past, present, and future. Unbeknownst to her, she has been trained her whole life to accept this responsibility. Now, as she finds herself torn between the angelic brothers protecting her and the devastatingly handsome childhood friend who wants to destroy her, she must prepare to be brave, to be hunted, and above all to be strong because temptation will be hard to resist, even for an angel." I was beyond excited when I heard the news that Michelle Zink will have a new series coming out! I loved her Prophecy of the Sisters trilogy, and her short story in Kiss Me Deadly. I have yet to check if that short story is somehow linked to this book (hmmm).
The book cover is beautiful and will lure you to pick up the book, or check it out. But the plot itself will surely pull you in and have you waiting for the book. Team Angels, we have another one in the wings! :)
Now here is an excerpt I got thru Bloody Bookaholic, where I also first saw this news. (Thanks, Taschima!)
"Her eyes found the exist in under five seconds.
The wall behind her, unstable enough that a good push might get her through.
The now-glassless panes at the front of the house, which she could reach in four long strides.
And the doorway in which the tall, shadowy figure now stood.
Obviously, a last resort.
She didn't know if she could be seen, but before she could weigh the wisdom in making a run for it rather than staying and hoping she hadn't been spotted, the figure spoke.
"I imagine you've already found all the exists." The voice was familiar and male. "You've all been well trained."
