Hi, Guys! I'm currently on a semi-hiatus state in blogging due to the ongoing renovation at home, as well as the start of the peak season in work. Doing the best I can to be updated in the latest bookish news like the latest cover reveals in the past week/s.
One of the latest bits I heard is that the formal news for the fourth Hush, Hush book is now out! Yup, heard that right! Fourth book, baby! I have already read Silence and I must say it's a wow. Becca definitely made it worth the wait. I will save the rest for my review (that can't seem to materialize!!).
You can read more about it from Simon and Schuster:
“Fans across the world have fallen in love with the HUSH, HUSH saga,” said Justin Chanda Vice President and Publisher of Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers. “And they will undoubtedly celebrate with us the fact that there will be a fourth book.”
Then finally, Cassandra Clare announced that The Infernal Instruments trilogy will be adapted into manga! It's not a crime to say wow again, right? Because WOW.
Yen Press confirmed during the New York Comic Con that they have come into agreement with Cassandra Clare about the manga adaptation. It will be illustrated by HyeKyung Baek, who also did the illustrations for the manga adaptation of Gossip Girl.
Cassandra Clare said of the deal: “As a long-time fan of manga, I’m so excited to be working on this adaptation with Yen Press. Manga has influenced a great deal of the way I envision narrative, and the chance to see my work rendered in the form is something I couldn’t pass up. I look forward to seeing HyeKyung Baek’s evocative art bring The Infernal Devices’ world of gaslit romance to life.”
Kurt Hassler, Yen Press Publishing Director, said: “I confess that I’m a sucker for Victorian Era storytelling, and I was already a fan of Cassie’s The Mortal Instruments series. The combination of the two that is The Infernal Devices had me rapt from page one, and I knew that I wanted to see this story unfold through sequential art. I cannot think of another illustrator better suited to evoking this world visually than HyeKyung Baek, and I can hardly wait to see these pages start crossing my desk!”
Chapters of The Infernal Devices will be serialized in Yen Press’s monthly online anthology magazine, Yen Plus, with publication of the first volume slated for Fall 2012.
|This is my sort of IMM this week! :)|
I need to make the most of what remains of October. November is probably our stuffs-moving month so difficulty in finding time to read starts. Not to mention, the fourth season of Merlin already started, so I might be distracted for a while. ;-)
